As I posted earlier, I have been gently filing Ludwig's beak (RT) briefly daily for the last 12 days. I don't hold him - he just comes up to me and I file it. I don't want to give the impression that he likes it; I think he's trying to boot the file out of his enclosure, LOL. Anyway, I've posted a pic here as to how the beak looks now - I think I'm going to let his slate and terracotta dish do the maintenance from here on in, but I'd like your experienced thoughts on the length. He was always able to eat fine, but now it cosmetically looks better and I think he eats even better than he did.
(BTW - I love how he looks like a wise old tort in the pic, LOL!)

It's still a bit long, but if he can eat ok, then go for it (the feeding on a rough stone idea).

But, keep your eye on it because once the top beak starts to grow outwards instead of downwards, it's real hard to get it back into the correct shape.

Thanks for your feedback. I, too, feel it is still a tad long, but I'll keep an eye on it and file accordingly, now that I know it can be done.
