I'm thinking of building and outdoor place for my Russian. I was wondering how to keep it safe from animals because I live next to a woods and pond. Because there are Geese, blue herins, raccoons, and last week I saw this huge snapping turtle walking on my front yard.

Dog kennels seem like a great idea when there are predators, especially Raccoons.
And, you can get inside w/o breaking your back to tend to the area.
Mike's looks great: visual barriers around the bottom.
I think I have seen some using these and burying them 6" or so. Or you can backfill with soil inside.
Mike, does yours have a bottom too? How do you secure the base from digging?

Looks great!!! I was curious about the bottom as well. Also did you cover the top? Racoons are great climbers
