I have a Hermann and I am beginning to build him an outdoor habitat, I live in Virginia and the ground here stays moist, so my question is should I put a bottom on the habitat? I am new mom to Moses and I am trying to figure out the best ways to keep him healthy.

You might think of it as some sort of raised bed with a layer of small rocks for drainage down first, then sand and top soil mixed together. I would put down rail road ties in the shape you want the habitat, then fill up the space inside the ties with the above mentioned items, then build your fence on the rail road ties.

Thank you so much for the advice!!! I have a few more questions if you don't mind, should the habitat be close to the ground or can I have it up off the ground a couple of feet? I plan on putting soil and reptile mulch in the habitat as well along with some of the foliage for Moses to munch on, is this okay to do?:tort:;);)
