Outdoor tortoise pen

My tortoise is just pacing the edges of his outdoor pen, I don’t understand why it he is trying to escape! He has food, water, a hide, lots of shade, and I’ve even sprayed the enclosure with some fresh water in case he’s to hot!! I don’t know what he wants can anyone please suggest anything?!

Its normal behavior. Thats why u see everyones pens look like baseball fields ( warning tracks around them) lol

Your tortoise is just being a tortoise....walking, exploring. The grass (and weeds) are always greener, thicker & tastier on the other side of the enclosure.

You could put in a few sight barriers, rocks, make it a bit more interesting.

U should change that water bowl out to something easier to get into.. like a terra cotta saucer sunk into the ground. Other than that nice looking enclosure for ur lil guy.

Lovely enclosure are you expecting to repel bears? I would beef up the base and and wheels to make it easier to move! BTW perimeter checks are done on the regular!

It’s actually a rabbit pen because we also have a rabbit which is why it’s so secure?
