Our Hermanns tortoise has recently this summer stated pacing around her run. I have read the other posts but haven’t managed to find a relatable case. Is the pacing due to her enclosure being too small? Thank you!

Our Hermanns tortoise has recently this summer stated pacing around her run. I have read the other posts but haven’t managed to find a relatable case. Is the pacing due to her enclosure being too small? Thank you!

It is quite a common cause. How big is your enclosure? Also can the tortoise see outside of the run? Sometimes if they can see a world on the other side they will spend their time trying to get out.

Even with a full yard my Leppard paced a lot, added sight barriers and he stopped.

The run is about 8ft by 4ft and she cannot see out of her run, but she does share the space with another female
