Peas for edema?

Just got a message on my voicemail from the vet saying that I should feed frozen peas cut in half to my leopard for edema to help it go down but then I read online not to feed them peas has anyone heard of either of these claims? I figured I would ask everyone here since the TFO is the best!!! ??

I looked it up on the Tortoise Table and it says do not feed.
