Really excited to work with this species, checked off another one on my bucket list (anyone have any parrot-beak tortoises lying around?). So far they are settling in nicely. Basking temps max out at 97, ambient gets around 83-85. @Kapidolo Farms, didn't you keep a group a while back, how did your group turn out? @Markw84 I heard you are getting into Pyxis, curious of your setup/temps if you keep flat-tails as well.

Congratulations! I do not have planicauda (or as the natives call them - kapidolo) I currently only have the Pyxis arachnoides arachnoides.

Will has some as does Kingsley who is also hatching some successfully.

Roughly about that age.

The larger looks male. The small one has a better chance of being a female, Time will tell. Congratulations!! It’s such a privilege to work with them.

My thoughts as well. Almost no one seems to know how to incubate for females with flat tails. Have another hatchling with split scutes, hoping it might give me a shot for female.

How are these doing now?
Wonderful, decided to split them up and have had much better results in activity and feeding response. They are tricky, no doubt about that...
