As some of you know this is Wally Gator.
My local Alligator Lizard friend who lives in my garage.
This is both a sad and happy "tail".
I came home from work Monday and saw two ravens acting weird in my front yard.
I quickly realized they had Wally cornered between two Sago Palms.
The second I walked up to them I watched Wally jettison his tail and scurry off into my hedge.
The raven made off with his tail.
I'd like to think my intervention saved his life. Not caused his permanent physical deformity.
He instantly went from a beautiful 14 inch lizard to a beautiful 9 inch lizard.

Lucky him...and the loss of a piece of tail is well worth saving your butt.....I bet he will be double cautious in his outings ..also, no beauty lost whatsoever....good intercept...:D

Wow I've never seen a lizard like that! Gorgeous! :D is he able to grow the tail back, or will it always be like that? Either way, he looks amazing to me!

It will grow back but not as long as it was.
It will probably about 1/2 the length it was with more of a blunt tip.
I'll keep an eye on him and post his progress.

Middle of nowhere
I'm sure he'll still be super handsome :)

I am always very careful not to even really touch the tail of my leopard gecko, because they look terribly nasty when they fall off, and then when it grows back it's usually a very nasty looking growth.

Those are the only type of lizard that I get creeped out by and they are mean , but glad to hear he is okay.
