So my little guy goes outside on our grass to roam. Unfortunately he's so small it's a little tough for him to walk on it and he has to put a lot of effort into getting over the big grass. I was just wondering if him exerting himself so much to get over the grass is a good thing. I thought that if he is working really hard to walk around that maybe he's getting extra good exercise to make his little muscles grow. I don't know though. Any ideas?

Cute :) Yea our little girl has a fun time cruising in the grass here, it's adorable but I think it does her good. We have patches of smooth grass and dirt she runs to and picks weeds from.

I imagine it is tough but the little one will build up strength... Make sure to watch the baby so they do not show signs of stress which can be bubbling or snotty noses. That happened to me the very first time I put my baby outside. I was worried it was pnemonia but after further research I concluded it was the stress and new environment...

You might consider keep your lawn trimmed on the lowest setting if you are really concerned... Good luck!

It is on the lowest setting!! He's just very small. And I watch him constantly and never have noticed anything like that. Except watery eyes which I'm guessing is from the sun. He always has access to the shade too!

I too think its good exercise. I would just watch him to make sure he dont get over-heated if its real hot outside. I had 1 case where Cooper got over-heated and he started foaming at the mouth, his eyes started watering real bad. So when I came home and found this, I snatched him up and took him in and got him cooled off. He then poo'd runny poo everywhere, mainly on my shirt. It was very scary. But he is fine now thank god! :) And remember, the only stupid question is the one you didnt ask! :)

I can't believe the level of stupidity of this question, it boggles the mind, seriously come on now.
In actuality it is a good question, a lot of people think it helps strengthen them when they have to walk over tough/rough surfaces. I don't know if I would have the entire area like that, but a nice sized area won't hurt him.

Well the grass is a flat surface. It's just tall for his half inch or so legs!

We feel similar, I cut the area often and as short as the mower will cut. Just make sure you have no stumps and if sprinklers are underground that the tops will clear the blades. I have hit both sprinkler heads and a stump, the stump broke my mower and the sprinkler heads are not cheap.
