I'm on my phone most the time too. So auto correct and or just lagging when I type causes problems. On top of that I'm already terrible at typing and making sense as is. I try guys haha

Jeepers today was hectic-Woke up @ 5am.
Collected the tank.
Went to a swimming pool shop-bought swimming pool filter sand for substrate,it's a very cheap option;40kg(88.2 pounds) @ R100(6.67$)
Went to LFS got 100ml anti chlorine/tap water conditioner @ R70(4.67$)
Cleaned everything and filled with water and deco,I'm busy with heater and filtration.
Will let everything run overnight then I will house madam tomorrow!!20161203_101214.jpg IMG-20161203-WA0004.jpeg 20161203_122024.jpgMy kids are excited as I am,lol20161203_143330.jpg20161203_144657.jpg 20161203_150419.jpg 20161203_152757.jpgI don't want to go crazy on decor-working with the idea that less is better;more swimming space!!

It has been a very looooong day so I still have to build a basking spot(Rome wasn't build in 1 day haha).

Tnx Tom haha I kinda get carried away when it comes to my pets!!

Here are some of my other fishtanks;20161203_185415.jpg

There's 3 things left to do-Make a basking spot/platform(I've decided to make a hang on type from perspex that will rest on top of the glass slider rails),install a basking spot heat light and thirdly I'm waiting on a friend who will give me buckets full of guppies to add for her to enjoy a continuous free buffet:)

My final post will be when I'm completely done.So if there's no more replies then I guess I will speak to you guys in a week or two.

Cheers from South Africa for now.

Update:

Almost finished with basking area.
I've made it with glass instead of perspex because I have had problems before that perspex warps with heat.20161207_220928.jpg 20161207_171839.jpg

I will be adding some sort of rough'ish tiles for grip on the ramp and resting area.

I picked up a small problem. The lid of the tank has a gap at the back so I found myself with a predicament that misses will be able to go on strolles whenever she pleases. So I had to come up with a way to close it up..
Quickest cheapest was to build a kind of fence.
Found some plastic grids, cut them on size and glued them together.Waiting for glue to dry then I will silicone it vertically on top of the edge of the tank at the back.IMG-20161209-WA0005.jpeg 20161209_165314.jpg

I must say, it's been a pleasure getting to know you. There's no reason to leave just because the project is finished. You can still visit our 'nonsense' threads - http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/cold-dark-room.123941/ - and - http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/pretend-chat-2-14.87425/

We just visit on those threads, and get to know each other. Most of the folks in the Cold, Dark Room are from other countries, with a few USA folks. And the Chat thread is just different members commiserating with each other. We don't usually talk turtles and tortoises there, just visit.

It's always satisfying when they use something you make for them! You did a very nice job on the whole thing.
