Pumpkin Seeds

I want to give the turtles some pumpkin seeds, but do I need to crack them first? I'd like to use them as a dewormer AND a healthy treat (FYI, as far as I know, they don't have worms ) Let me clarify- I found a bunch of threads about pumpkin seeds being a natural dewormer, but I couldn't fins a single thing on how to serve that... like cracked? Whole? Powdered?

I plan to grind my seeds in with the emat if the pumpkin and feed it to the gang.
Will toss it in the blender.

Would that take away any deworming properties? (is the seed shell even edible?)
