^^^^ when I first got him
I am the owner of a 9 month old sulcata that I have owned since it was 1 month old. I am sad to admit that due to general lack of knowledge and conflicting information on the internet that I may have caused permanent damage to its shell. I feel terrible and would love some tips on how to prevent further damage. I was unaware until today that a tortoise needs humidity as well as dryness. My tortoise lives in an indoor, renovated 60 gallon fish tank with reptile mulch substrate, a UVB bulb, and a ceramic heating coil. I take him outside several times a week for some sun and exercise and I feed it organic romaine lettuce as well as letting it graze when it is in my yard, (no pesticides, don’t worry). I fear that the lack of humidity is causing the pyramiding. Please let me know.
