I thought I would put in a word for the newbie's, showing how Queenie is set up... and showing off my beautiful Queenie herself. She is only the second Mediterranean species I've had and I think she is just beautiful to look at and she has a beautiful quirky personality and I think even tho she's never actually seen Bob, her tort table is in his shed and I think some of Bob is rubbing off on her...So here is Queenie; she's half T.h.boettgeri and half T.h.hermanni, so I had to promise I wouldn't breed her...this is her tort table. It's in Bob's shed, the substrate is half aspen shavings and half moistened cypress mulch, and she spends her day digging holes and eating ants. When I go in there I am just amazed at how many holes she has dug and how energetic she is about digging them. She's seriously funny and I wish her tort table was in the house. Her hide is aspen shavings and hay and she makes a great nest in there so she can cuddle up and have a great place to sleep. You can see Bob's sleeping box in the left hand corner, the humidifier is on top of her hide, and you can see what Bob does to his water dish, I guess I should have cleaned that up before I took pictures! Oh well...
I keep a black lightbulb in her hide 24/7 so she can't get cold...

you see what I mean when I say she is taking after Bob...

she loves squash as much as Bob does, and she does not eat like a lady...

look at that mouth!

She seem kinda mystified that it's all gone...

This is Queenie trying to figure out what is this thing in invading her snack time...

Here's her cute little butt wiggling it's way into her hide. You can see the black light right there in her hide...

Well, that's Queenie's tort table and her snack time... when Spring comes around she will have an outside pen next to my new box turtle pen, so she will be out in the sun as much as possible.
Bob just couldn't stand it that I made a thread about Queenie and didn't add anything about him...so here is another Squash face...but there's something sad about his look here don't you think?

I think Bob's just doing his best to remind you of his higher priority position in your estimation. ;)

Queenie really does have beautiful coloring. I still think of dragons sometimes when I see tort photos like the one of her huge outstretched nomming on the squash! :p

I was thinking the same thing. Does Bob know she's up there, and does he ever try to check it out?
Love your pictures, as always, Maggie.

I don't think Bob knows she's up there. He's never acted like he knows. There's just one leg supporting the one side of her tort table and he's never knocked it down. I think that Bob is too self centered and hedonistic to care about anyone else...:D

I promised I wouldn't breed her as she is half T.h.boettgeri and half T.h.hermanni.
