FYI, a de-worming medication will not get rid of all parasites, and is not even guaranteed to get rid of worms (even with two doses some can get through, or the tort can re-infect itself by coming into contact with contaminated poop). There are several parasites I can think of that would require antibiotics or other types of treatments. I do recommend getting a fecal test done for your tort. $15-20 typically. I would not allow my vet to treat my tort for something we weren't sure he had, nor avoid testing for other things he could have. There are many types of parasites that are worse than worms.
