I just got a baby tortoise and it has been sleeping alot and it is already march and about 72 degrees out. Is she sick? What do I do?

Well first in the wild if it moves it's something's dinner . So relax give the tort it's daily soaks in warm water and feed it daily and in a wile it will see you as the " food god " and watch what happens ! Good luck with your new tort !

I'm assuming that your baby is a desert tortoise? And how old is the tortoise - is it still a hatchling?

Like Grandpa said, baby tortoises are prey and stay hidden to be safe.

Tortoises take a couple weeks to get used to new digs, but there are some things you should check to be sure you're caring for the baby properly:

Is the habitat warm enough? (ranging across the floor of the habitat from room temperature, or about 75F degrees up to about 85F degrees, with it being around 100F directly under the light)

What types of food are you offering the tortoise?

Is the habitat large enough?

Is there a safe place to hide?

If we can see pictures of the tortoise and the habitat we will be able to give you better answers to your plight.
