Firstly how do I know if my tortoise is drinking and what happens if it flips over whilst I’m out , also is it normal that it goes to it hut earlier than normal some nights and lastly how much should I feed it a day ??

Any help ??

Thanks

Hi, and welcome!

One reason we soak them everyday (in a bowl they can't climb out of) is because we want to be sure they're drinking enough to stay hydrated

If you eliminate flipping hazards best you can, and have fairly soft substrate, you just have to keep your fingers crossed they won't flip when you're not home.

Baby tortoises (I'm assuming you have a baby) are prey. They usually hide a lot. There really is no set time for them to go in.

I offer more food than they finish off in one day. If they eat it all I know I didn't give enough, so I increase the amount the next day.
