Hello I just had a question... I decided not to hibernate my two little California desert tortoises. I keep thier tortoise table at around 90 degrees during the day but down here in Southern California it can still be pretty warm so I let the forage around the yard when it's warm enough, I also give them warm water soaks daily. My question is, will not hibernating them hurt them in anyway?

No, hibernation is a biological reaction to cold weather nothing more nothing less

I don't agree with dmmj's assessment, but I do believe his answer is still correct. If there is any harm in not hibernating, none of us have seen it yet.

Not hibernating them is probably better on the tortoise keeper's brain. I have such a hard time with them being "out for the count". Every morning I have to check to be sure them little feet move when touched. It is really hard on me. I am afraid of losing a little buddy.
