Re doing Tort Pit

Does anyone know about ornamental grasses? Looking to plant several in the tort pit for shade and a place to hide. Does this grass be harmful to my Hermann Tortoises?

By ornamentals you mean like the fancy ones they put in lanscapes? If so, I know the Carex family and Pampa grasses are safe. Carex is a smaller grass, waxy in appearance, it comes in green/white and yellow/white can take shade also. Pampas grass is a HUGE (almost 10ft.) it likes full sun.
