A small amount of flaring is alright and normal...however they should not be so much to look like they can take flight...... :D

What is your diet for them as well as do they have access to UVA/B and a dry out spot?

We need pics and then i could tell you most likely and do you have the proper set-up for them such as UVB, heat, good filter, proper diet, and so forth.

Man I'm not being able to upload right now for some reason. But I was reading and I think I'm feeding them too much.

HAHAHA, they are the goldfish of the turtle world !!!!! They will suck up and thrash about as though they have not eaten for YEARS!!!!! They push that adorable pathetic little face up so you think that they are totally starving...."feed me feed me" is their slogan....LOL

They get along fine with one meal a day (some adults are fine with every other day) and if "you" need to feed them more than once, then simply split up their meal until you wean yourself off of the need to feed every time you look into their beautiful little eyes....

The two RESs I have now use to belong to an old boss of mine and they use to live at the park I use to work at...there were about 10+ employees there...each of us would come on at different times so would be passing their tank as you come onto duty...so of course these little piglets would do their begging and everyone was feeding them every day (OMG!!!!) however, I was the only one that found it important to keep their tank clean and clear...well, I noticed that the damn tank would not stay clean beyond 2 days...wholly cow..one day I was in my office stuck there doing a report that had to be done...so I said hello to everyone that come on and that day is when I realized that everyone was coming in and feeding the little pigs....so I started a chart and had everyone initial when they fed and the date along with pics for the staff of what happens to little piggie RESs that were fed to their hearts desires....so it was brought under control before it was entirely tooooooo late....LOL :p:p:p:p:p

i have seen the "flaring" in res more than other types of water turtles, they usually grow out of this with no issue with proper care.
