I am rehoming my uncle's Horsefield Tortoise due to him passing

He is approx 12 years old and in good health but does have an overhang on his lower beak. Apparently the vets have said this is fine

He has a quite a large vivarium and heater lamp

We have looked into sanctuaries but none are able to take him

Any questions, please ask

Matt

Hello there! I hope the right home comes along for you but I did want to warn that there are some things that desperately could do with addressing to make him more comfortable whilst in your care, I’m noticing what looks to be a halogen bulb? They aren’t appropriate unfortunately and has likely contributed to the pyramiding, he needs an incandescent floodlight, the substrate also needs switching, beech chips aren’t a good choice. Theres a few other tweaks too.

Hopefully this link below could be useful, the size will need upgrading with a new owner so do make them aware, but hopefully you can apply the information to your set up in the meantime🙂

Does that under bite effect his eating? It looks quite severe
