Here's some pics of the 3-toe I took in from substandard care. He's got a deformed shell, a spot of shell rot, MBD and his beak is slightly misaligned. He's my first box turtle so tips are welcome but I have lots of experience with tortoises and water turtles. Were going to start fixing his beak once the MBD is dealt with. So far he's a pretty happy camper and loving his dirt (he only had 1/4" before, now he's got 5" to dig in).

The mbd doesn't seem as bad as it could be yet. He's still pretty mobile but his shell is pretty soft. He's eating lots of Phoenix worms and seems happy. He's only 119g so his shell must be quite thin, my hermanns of the same size is over 200g

I wish people who are not informed on the proper care of turtles and able to provide this care would stop keeping them. Happy you could give it a better life
