My boyfriend went out to get some food for my tortoises today. He went to Kmart. Well when he was there, he talked to the produce manager. Seems that they throw away lots of romaine lettuce. When they take the outer leaves off, some of the heads get to small and they pitch it. They will sell it to me for 25 cents a pound. You might want to check your local grocery stores too. It is a good deal since my torts are pigs. I have to feed them at least twice a day or they will drive me crazy. Just wanted to let everyone know. Might work for you too.
