This reminds me of a question I've had a few times now but keep forgetting to ask: What type of material do breeders use to mark the tortoise shells? Some sort of plant-based ink? Always been wondering that! ;)

I use nail polish. I am very careful to not get the nail polish on the new growth area. I put a tiny bit on the center of a scute.
