Hurricane Helene a major threat!

My mother's nursing home in Albany Georgia took a direct hit. But the thing had been weakened by the time it arrived. There are trees down. But her facility was not damaged

My sister is in Galax Virginia, she has no power and flooding. She called me earlier but now nothing. I hope she is okay.

We are getting some rain finally with a lot of wind so it might be starting. So far the lights are just blinking and the satellite keeps having issues but so far alls good. My prayers go to my Southern friends and their families that are going through much worse than me.

Even living in Jamaica all my life, I am horrified and distressed by the terrible destruction and flooding and suffering this hurricane has brought...the videos are awful .

Reading this makes me grateful to be in the ukwe never have to worry about anything other than the odd bit of flooding! Hurricanes are wild to me, I can’t even imagine having to worry about this kind of thingmy heart definitely goes out to anyone affected!
