I am wondering if anyone else notices something that looks like a broken beak on my tortoise. I have noticed that Saturn is not as active lately, and although he is still eating, it isn't as often or as voraciously as usual. I have been a tortoise owner for 3 years now and believe all the temp, uv, humidity, and diet are on track. I have a reptile vet that i can contact, but I just wanted expert advice on here first.

Hi, the beak of your tort is overgrown.
Maybe she has difficulties to eat with an overgrown beak. A vet should shorten the beak carefully.

It is slightly overgrown in the front and this may cause it to break off on the sides. Trouble with that is it usually breaks where you don't want it to.

Thank you! That is what I suspected. I have read about horror stories with vets and beak trimming, so I'm a little nervous, but I will make sure to do my research before going in.
