Savi was supposed to get here in the morning. I went in to town to buy her greens tonight and stopped by my post office about 6:30. I had a notification in my box that she was there!!! I opened the mail drop slot and started talking through it... told him I was so sorry to bother him but I had a VERY important package that was not supposed to be delivered until the morning but was here today, could he please let me have it. He did. Best postman ever. :D

She was a little cold when I got her out of the shipping package but there is NOTHING shy about this little Leo. lol She climbed all over my hand and lap, let me pet her head, no cowering or hissng. Finally got her home and put her in to soak, she started drinking water. She wandered around her new home, pooped, found the cuttle bone and tore into it. I ran to town to get her greens (she wouldn't touch the zoo med grassland food).

When I come home, she was queen of her castle. She chowed down on the greens. When my finger got in the way, she walked right up to it, put her head on it and started trying to dozer it out of her way! This girl is dynamite. lol Thanks to Rick Green for such an outgoing gal. She is only a bit over 3 weeks old. Anyway, sorry for going on so much. Just super happy.

That sounds fantastic. She is soo cute. Can I recommend you bury the water dish to be level with the substrate. Also, if you haven't, read Toms threads below in my post for raising smooth, healthy leopards. The sulcata threads will apply too.
Oh, also a picture of your whole enclosure, from what is seen in the pictures, it looks fantastic.

Thank you. I am going to add substrate a little deeper so will bury the water dish then. Thank you for the tip. I have read and read and read some more. Tortoise keeping is much different then when I got my first sulcata baby over 15 years ago. Aquarium or enclosed were no no's back then. Seems like everything has changed but the results are much better. I've incorporated the changes into Savi's enclosure. I'll try and get a pic of it tomorrow. She's finally went to sleep for now. Long day for her, I'm sure.

You had an awesome day!
Lovely little tortoise. I love that you have read and read and now you are going to see the results of all of that. That postman, rocks. You will have to share pics of your little one with him next time you go to the post office. Love the name Savi. : )

Savi, is adorable, so tiny! Looks like you're using an Exo-Terra Terrarium, were you able to cover the screen top? I can't tell if Savi, is a Pardalis or Babcocki? Looks like a hybrid of the two.

Thanks everyone. I just love her. I also just found out that she was actually a twin... the breeder's first twins from the same egg. He thought that might be why she's been so 'wide open' since she hatched. :)

Thank you and yes, it's an Exo-Terra terrarium with the screen covered. Savi is a Babcocki.

Seems she's not a morning girl. That or she is worn out as she's stil sleeping. I woke her up to check on her and she grumped at me for the first time, giving me that one eye opened look like how dare you. lol I left her alone and she went back to sleep.

Barb, here are pics of the enclosure. I did sink the water dish with dirt up to the lip but it doesn't look it with the rocks around it. She's went into her hide a few times but prefers sleeping under the leaves around the edges.
