My tortoises head is a little dry and peeling. Normally I would just soak him and let it work itself out, but the placement of the peeling is getting his head stuck.
It was hard to get a picture at a good angle but the big scale right at the top of his head is peeling up right above his nose. When he puts his head inside his shell, the peeled up part gets stuck and he can’t pull his head out.
Is there anything I can do to help him? I know I can’t pull it off but is there a way to trim it or safely file it down? I don’t want to hurt him but I don’t want him to get stuck all day.
(P.S. I know he’s a little dehydrated. He’s been to the vet and gotten a check up and I’ve been soaking him every day so he’s okay)
