Donut lost a spike on his leg. Should I put anything on it? I don't want it to get infected.

Neosporin and rinse once a day. How did he lose it?
Not sure. It's possible it happened when he was trying to get out of his pool. I cut the side of a plastic kiddie pool so he can get in and out on his own, only he hasn't figured out how to get out once he's in there. He tries to climb the pool wall instead of walking over the part I cut out. I heard him scraping and went outside to rescue him from the pool and that's when I saw it.
Can dig a hole and bury it and put a tiny ramp? LOL
