Yes it is, but they can be raised easily in fresh water too. Almost all people now raise them in fresh water. She used to be alot smaller too haha(She is the right DBT)

These beauties are on my short list of must have turtles/tortoises... Along with 3 more three-toeds, 3-4 more red foots, ivory sulcata and Aldabra.

Oh, I'm so jealous! In Texas you are not allowed to keep them as pets, which is so disappointing. I do see them in the wild fairly often though, which is fun.
