Shedding

Hello All!

I've had my Hermanns tortoise Angela for two and a half years and recently she's been excessively shedding for nearly six weeks. She still very active and it doesn't seem to bother her but I just want to make sure it's not something other than normal shedding.

Her table has coco coir, humidity is 40-45%, the temperature in the hot section is 35-40 degrees and 20 degrees in the cool section. She has baths every 1-2 days.

That does seem excessive, but at least the skin underneath isn't raw and red. I know nothing about this species, so let's wait for others to chime in about the shedding.

We had a Greek for 47 years and his shedding varied from very little to major and extremely tatty looking. I don’t see anything to be particularly concerned about there.
