Just acquired a Russian tort from my sister, they were unable to take care of him because they had a baby. So I got his tank set up and let him soak in some shallow water for a little bit and decided to take a closer look at him. It appears that his bottom is peeling and potentially have shell rot. Wasn't sure if this was the case or not, his substrate is somewhat damp, which I should dry it out some more. What would be a good way to do that ?
Also what are the signs of pyramiding and a healthy grow ring/ shell?
