Sick turtle

My 20 yr old female box turtle started bleeding from what i assume is her rectum. Her tail is very swollen. What could the problem be. She is inside with a couple of other turtles.

Could be anything. Best bet is to take her to the vet ASAP. Meanwhile I would probably soak her in warm water. Could be a prolapse. Or she could be eggbound. Or who knows. Vet ASAP.

Like G says, it might be any number of things, including an over-active male, constipation, egg bound, etc. I think a vet visit is in order.

Vet ASAP. Meanwhile separate her from the others right now. There have been instances of females being severely damaged by relentless males. Whether this is the case here is not something I can say. Whatever the cause, keep her clean and separate & get her to a vet.
