My Hermann's tortoise is 1 and a half years old. I wake him up every morning at 7am, and he has been going to bed on his own by going and burrowing in his favourite spot a little later than 7pm. Is this a normal time for a tortoise of his age to go to sleep? Just worried because I sleep so much later than him so it feels like he is going to bed too early.

That's a long time to be awake, normal, if that's what he wants to do. Most go to sleep earlier, at least my adult leopards and Russian do.

Ah okay, thanks for letting me know. Complete opposite of what I thought!
