Hello my California desert Tortoise was just taken out from burmation today. He burmates in a designated refrigerator. Over the past few days, I have gradually increased the temperature. throughout his burmation I will check it on him and he has seemed fine. It’s a nice sunny day today in Long Beach so I brought him out, but his eyes look very sunken in it which I’m assuming is that he is dehydrated and there was some Eye group. I quickly got him soaking for about 40 minutes. He has moved around my backyard a little bit, but he is very sleepy. still his eyes are closed occasionally he opens them but most of the time he looks like he’s napping and it is a 90° day today. Last year when we woke him up, he woke up ready to go and was very hungry and moving around so this is concerning to me. Is this OK? Should I be concerned? I’ve also given him two additional 15 minutes soaks. I am attaching a photo of his eyes and him sleeping.
