I very recently got my RF Lucy from a lock pet store. I tried to make a suitable home from what I'd researched with my limited funds (college haha) but I am still worried about humidity since she is so small. I decided it's a girl until I know for sure haha:) She is very active and really loves burrowing in the moss and hanging out in the log. I'm planning on painting the outside since it is partly see through, but she doesn't try to escape at all. The moss does stay moist, as well as the paper towel on the covered side. I mist several times daily and soak her in warm water. Are there any inexpensive ways to improve the enclosure?

Has the top of her shell always been that white? I know these guys can marble but I think she's too young? Don't quote me on it I'm a russian gal but I'd run it by a few of the RT breeders and see if that is shell rot.

Just a precaution.

Some Redfoots just hatch out very light and will develop darker color with new growth. My T Rex had a very light shell as a hatchling! It does look like there may be something weird on the right side of the shell in the individual picture but it may just be the lighting.

Moist soil on the entire bottom. Place the moss on top on one side as you have it now. No paper towel. A leafy plant that is safe to eat (such as a hosta, but there are many options) on the opposite side of where the light fixtures are. Earthworms and isopods added to help stuff "move" and to provide a supplemental nutrition source. Seeds can spread on the soil to provide sprouts for nibbling.

Gladly. That is like ten to twenty-five dollars of upgrades that will cause a significant improvement in the enclosure.

There is actually a greenhouse just for the people in my residential program at school right outside my dorm so I get all of that stuff completely organic for free:)
