Soaking Mary K

Mary is not a good candidate for living here thru the winter. Last winter she banged the walls and door of her shed. My neighbor complained about her scratching and banging. It kinda echos in the shed. But this year she has her face in a corner of her sleeping box and she doesn't move, so I started putting together some great meals and pulling her out of the box and putting her right in front of the food. She's eating some but not much really, I tried to soak her in a bin, but it leaks. So using the bin, I pulled her across the yard, up 7 steps, across the deck, then across the house and into the "guest" bathroom...i
it's a lot harder than it sounds...
So, I dropped her into the tub...
Time passed and I forgot her for about an hour...yeah a long time but she paid me back...

she musta been eating more than I thought...lol

Lol my leopards do that even if they have only been in the water 5 minutes. Glad to see them pooping fine, but hate the clean up lol

so happy to see someone sharing the tortoise bathtub reality!! There is a gal on Instagram who posts videos of her sulcata in the bathtub but only features the beginning complete with candles, floating flower petals and spa music....I always wish her followers would get to see how that bath ends in real life!

Ah, the Glamour Tort people! They get shared in my FB sulcata group all the time. Frankly, they weird me out a little. lol

I have a sulcata, He's only 60 lbs and will just barely fit in my bathtub. Problem is.... I have trouble lifting him out of the tub.

That's a great idea. Then I could try to explain to people that tortoises are not boring at all, it's the unimaginative owners that bore themselves...

I went to a Reds game over the summer. 1st pro game I ever attended. Much more exciting watching on TV. At least you can hear the announcers getting excited at every little thing. When the neighborhood kids come over to look at my tort, they get excited just to see him move.

Fezzik does two interesting things - eat and move. Neither happens very often.

That's partly why he's boring. He's like 4.5-5". Even his poop and pee is boring

Whatever they're doing, that is a beautiful sulcata.

There's no doubt they commit a lot to time and effort to her care. Albeit they have some unconventional methods, I believe her needs are met.
