How is she sitting between ur legs ? Do you hold her head between your fingers ?
Your removing the overhang only if you look side on it is obvious. With your fingers in a V you hold the neck so the head is out. Then dremmel away it will fight with legs everywhere so I can see benefit of the glass and tape 
just do a little from left to right as if your filing your nails and then observe and do a bit more as required.
