20 minutes or an hour both fine.
However, the beak needs a trim
I was told yes n no but watching him eat on his own he gets more food in when I hold it.. so yes..I think I should not me.. looking for a possible experienced person.. lchecking reptile shop..because the Vets I have called just to see him is $90.00 .. then more.. not to say to much.. our Beagle just Emergency for Seizures.. after 2.5 weeks he passed ( I miss him badly)but our Vet money is truly over spent in the Thousands .. say 6,000. So don't think we're cheap.. just got to be careful. But my goal to help King Arthur beak.. forsure. Thank for commenting.

You could do a little at a time on the beak with toe nail clippers.

Its not really soaking if they can climb out anytime they feel like it. That is just placing your tortoise in water. If he chooses to sit in there, then by all means continue doing it that way, but be careful and keep a constant eye on him, that is just the sort of tub that they can flip upside down in as they try to climb out.

I use baby nail clippers from the dollar store. It trims less off. I works for me My opinion I am not an expert.

You can also use a human nail file to gently smooth out any sharp edges. His soaking container needs to have higher edges think dish washing or similar container but have it dedicared for Arthur as in not using after for your house dishes! Water needs to be shallow and warm with you observing a little away as in not hovering.

The water pool should be inset down into a rounded digout in the ground so that the tortoise steps down into it . If he has to clamber and balance on the side of it to come out, that's when he will likely tip over onto his back.

I always put a rock or stone in the dish so they have something to claw onto if they flip. A slightly smaller clay saucer inside these deeper dishes also works. But I’m home with mine 24/7 so that helps too.

I use a glass to tape them onto so they can’t get off and I have two free hands to work with. I hold their head out with one hand and dremmel the with the other.

You can introduce some largish rocks of different textures to its environment to help, mine loves to chomp on rocks.
