What is it you want to do with the sphagnum moss? Some people use it in their humid hides. I don't use it in my enclosures.

Well , I want to put it around my water dish and in a humid hide so there's more humidity in his tank .

Some people have success with this, but my sulcata babies always try to eat it.

I'm talking about the long fibered sphagnum moss, not the sphagnum moss that looks like dirt or soil.

I can't say that its unsafe, but I worry about them filling their stomach and intestines with non food items. My worry is that they could become impacted, though I have not seen this happen. Basically, I avoid the possibility of it happening, by not using the moss. Like I said before, many people use it without issue. You could try it and see if yours try to eat it like all of mine did. Maybe yours won't.

I use it all the time. For boxies, but also for humid hides for lizards.

I use sphagnum moss in my enclosure. I mix a bit in with the substrate, since its acidity is supposed to help prevent mold. Most of it goes on the top. My hatchling Hermann's LOOOOOOOOOVES burrowing in it (he spends most of his time in it), and it's been really useful in maintaining humidity. Mine chomped it once, but hasn't tried it again, so I guess it didn't taste very good...either way, the package says it's safe if ingested. I actually really like the boxed kind from Petco...it's very lush and fluffy and very green and pretty. :)

SpagMoss is just an abbreviated form of Sphagnum Moss (a brand name, I'm assuming? The link you provided didn't work for me)...It's the same thing but a different manufacturer. I personally use this brand here (click). It's really green, which I find aesthetically pleasing, and works great. :)

I've also used the Mosser Lee's brand, which many people on here like...I didn't personally...very blah in color (which, really, I could live with for the price) but it was full of sticks and twigs and stuff that I ended up spending a long time picking out. I just want the fluffy bits. :p

I prefer New Zealand long fibred sphagnum moss. It is tan colored, not green. I usually buy it online from either Reptile Basics or LLLReptile.

Ahh ! I wish i saw this before ! I was literally just at petsmart and I saw that stuff but I've been told to get the green sphagnum moss ! Darn it ! :( does it work well for humidity ? It was $16 so it was kind of expensive .

Do you have Lowe's home improvement store near you? In their garden dept they have brick sized packages of orchid moss for under $6. This is the tan colored sphagnum moss you need. It will be very dry and crumbly so carefully remove what you need and soak in warm water. Wring it out and place in your enclosure. Once moistened, a little goes a long way.

Ann is right. The orchid moss is basically the same thing. Though the packages are smaller so I don't know how much you save. And yes, the new Zealand stuff is more expensive. That's why I buy it in large quantities online. It's much cheaper that way.
