The people who own the house across the street from me are H'mong and they have a fruit stand on the street that runs by our houses. Every so often they bring me left-over fruits and veggies that are either too ripe to sell, deformed, etc. So last night she brought me a big box of stuff, zucchini, crook-neck, cucumbers, green beans, the best-tasting cherries I've ever eaten, and 5 of these:

Does anyone know what they are? I feed all that stuff to my redfoots and to the Asian tortoises, but I know there are some things that need to be cooked before eaten due to toxicity. Since I don't know anything about this kind of squash, I'm wondering if its ok to feed to the tortoises.
