Very pretty. Easterns are my favorite of the box turtles (color-wise), but three-toe seem to be the most personable, so those are my favorite personality-wise.
I take in quite a few box turtles through the rescue and I put them all into my different turtle yards (don't tell anyone I don't quarantine the box turtles. It will be our little secret). So I never know how many I have at any one time. There are 20 or so 3 toe, 6 or 8 western, 10 or 12 easterns, 8 or so gulf coast and 7 (I know this number for sure!) Floridas. I had two male Floridas that I raised from eggs and when they grew enough for me to know they were both male, I bought two hatchlings from someone back east, it may have been HermanniChris. This past summer I took in three that are about 2 or 3 years old as rescues. Hopefully some of the youngsters will end up being female.

Amazing work!! Your yard must look incredible with all those glorious species all over...that is what I want to create...here in nyc is quite limiting...but we take in strays when we can...be it reptiles or cats and dogs...we have a mini zoo...I would like to crrate a small sanctuary for torts and turtles....are you in arizona or cali??
Mine aren't much to look at. Do a search for Terryo and look at her habitats. they're really something!

congrats and good luck. Boxies have a lot of personality. More than i expected.
Right now I only have two box turtles but I had several many years ago. I have a three toed box turtle and a three toed/gulf coast integrade. I'm not sure why they are my favorites. There is just something about them that draws me to them, even over any of the tortoises.
