I'm going to get another baby tortoise in two weeks so I built another 3x7 feet table. I started Kiwi in a 40 gallon breeder aquarium for the first year before I put him in my first 3x7 table. I'm assuming the baby to either be a hatchling or maybe at most 3 inches. Should I block off half the enclosure and slowly expand it once the baby gets a bit bigger or just let it roam the full 7 feet? Don't want the little guy to be too tuckered out trying to get to the heat or get to the cool side.

There is no reason he can't have the whole thing. Always, the bigger the better. After all, think about where they come from in the wild.

I'm glad you asked this, our girly (or not) is about 3 and a quarter inches and I to have her in about a 40 gallon breeder (I think) but was considering building a 3x7 too.
