Staying warm outside?

Hi guys... haven't been here in awhile but need an idea to solve my problem...

My RF's are about 8 months old now and we go to the park everyday for sunshine. They don't have an outdoor enclosure. Now that the weather is turning chilly.. how to keep the munchkins warm? Here in SoCal we have sun just about everyday but no way do I want them out in temps in the 60's.

I looked at dog crate heating pads but they are weight activated. The only portable lamps I could find have non-removable LED lights. Maybe an electric blanket that has been heated and put it in a playpen? Yes, I am aware that I will look like an idiot... but torties gotta have sun! I'm out of ideas... help, please!

Are you looking for heat just for the few hours you have them out in the sun? First get a temp gun and be sure the actual temp beating down on the grass or better a large flat rock or cement side walk is only 60. It usually will be much warmer. With the gun, you could also keep temps on their shell while they are out there. If it is actually 60's then I wouldn't bring them out, too young yet to be in that cold of temps.

I have a small regular temp reader and then a large industrial infrared temp gun. They are equally accurate since they measure about the same (maybe the large one reads one degree cooler) so i have that covered.

It doesn't have to be long term heat. I think even one hour of sunshine a day would be okay since they have their uvb (non-coil) light. I just don't want them being uncomfortable... they love their outdoor time. Also, Huntington Beach gets damper as it gets cooler. Maybe I'm worried needlessly, but I'm really fearful of RI.

If they were a little older I would probably say no sweat!

I have a wooden enclosure that I built that you guys can have. It was not built very high so heat lamps might not work on this. It was built for the little ones to get sun in. You might be able to use a pig blanket or heat ropes for heat. Let me know if you want to come look at this enclosure. It was made very cheap but built very well. I dont use it anymore, You can also see the redfoots that made your little ones
