(straw) barley hay for tortoises

Mediterranean tortoises
can i feed Mediterranean tortoises barley straw as the primary food
water is always available and they know how to get it
i soak them once every week in water
they have
-cuttlefish bone lot of it everywhere
-water i change it daily
-small amount of hibiscus(because the plant is too young
- i planted 3 mulberry tree but they are 8 months old

Greetings. I wouldn't recommend that straw be used as a food. Straw is normally used as a bedding material for animals like horses, it’s not fed as a food.

That is not food, and Testudo tortoises are not grass eaters anyway. The primary diet should be the correct broadleaf weeds, leaves, and flowers.
