what substrate do you use for your enclosures? right now i'm using top soil, was thinking of adding bark or coco coir, but i think the dirt is fine.

Fine grade orchid bark and coco coir have a good earthy texture that a tortoise can dig into and they hold moisture well.

Top soil tends to compact quite hard and/or go muddy when damp.

Do not be tempted to use sand. It sticks to food and impacts in the gut
