Is using Cypress Mulch, ONLY, O.K. for my RT's? If so, how deep?
To be used in indoor winter enclosure. I prefer to not use soil + sand.

It is probably ok, a lot of people use only this, and I have also for the last few years. However, depending on the size of the cypress chips, i find that it is really now easy for them to dig in. I plan this year to try some sort of soil underneath with a thin layer of cypress overtop, seems a lot of others do this and would give them a good substrate to dig in but the cypress on top would keep the enclosure fairly clean still.

I don't mix my cypress mulch with anything. All of my tortoises live outside, but during the winter I sometimes have to keep a tortoise "up" for one reason or another. I use cypress mulch exclusively.
