The floor just isn’t any place for a tortoise. This blockage likely happened because he was on the floor, and would not have happened in a secure outdoor enclosure with a heated nightbox or shed. The floor is way too cold and does not allow for proper digestion, it’s a flat surface so their muscles and bones often morph do not develop properly, it’s terrible on their joints, they can eat anything and everything, and your sulcata is much too big for a heat lamp that can only heat part of their body, and will slow burn it’s shell. This is a grazing animal that needs a yard of food to keep it eating and growing. Carrots are too high in sugar and should only be fed as a treat, not the main thing offered for a meal. Your tortoise should never have access to dogs, or their food.
I promise you, he did not “hate” having a proper enclosure. That kind of anthropomorphism is dangerous, and they are not capable of that feeling. Tortoises are just territorial creatures that have a hard time adjusting to new spaces.
Please be sure to move him outside to a secure enclosure with an insulated shed as soon as you can, especially because summer will be here soon.
