He is 16 inches she is 18 inches. I think the lawn mower in his territory stimulates him to be dominate. The same can happen if a new male is introduced so that's just my theory . That he looks at the lower mower as a big male in his territory.

Ps. I don't weed eat, they do that for me lol

I've seen on Youtube tortoises attempting to mate with objects (ie: a croc shoe). Do you ever see him doing that? Or is he always with the female?
