Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask a question about Hermann tortoises. I will be getting one soon a baby to be exact. I live in Florida and of course there is a lot of sun here. I wanted to know if I kept my tortoise outside in sunlight for 1-2 hours every day if that would be enough for his D3 intake? Also could I give him calcium + D3 supplement and would that be enough or to much? I read somewhere that 30-40 mins of sunlight is like having a uvb bulb on for 10 hours. If that is true then I'd guess giving him D3 supplements might be to much and posion him. But then again he is a growing baby so will he need more D3 or will the 1-2 hours of outside time be enough?
