I promise I'll get decent pics of "Sassy" ASAP.. [ shown 'underwater' in the winter tub ] she has produced a number of beautiful babies.. as you have seen. I wanted to show how the head patterns were maintained in the hatchlings! Well over 8" SCL -

Sassy113.jpg

Blonde female -

BlondeNorthern.jpg

Unless noted.. all of the females are 7" - 8"+ SCL.. a good mature size.. well within breeding size. Most/all will produce this 2013 season.

Acquired this WC rescue from "China Town" - sad story from Aug. '11. An attempt to 'transition' and 'heal' her was heart breaking. She had been kept in fresh water until severe "shell-rot" had occured. She had a beautiful yellow carapace [ you can see a little of the 'rot' in the pic ]. Her flesh was untouched!

She was 'dry-docked' and treated daily for almost 2 months.. but never would eat anything but frozen shrimp and crablegs. She went down within 10 days of trying to wean her onto pellets. I was assured by my long-term breeder friend that she had lingering health issues that were fatal as a result of the stress she endured from the 'treatments', etc. She was a beauty -

NEVER ATTEMPT TO 'TRANSITION' A WC TERRAPIN unless you have a year or more to deal with it.

On a good note.. the very first female concentric given to me that got it started! After this one I was hooked.. inside -

FranksGirl.jpg

And later outside - [ see her blue 'eye-shadow' ? ] -

FranksGirloutside.jpg

I'll get those boys posted ASAP!

Okay, you got to stop. The pics are making me want to turn my aquarium and pond into DBT's homes. Keep posting though:D I know, I'm confusing, stop, don't stop, but seriously, don't stop. I do love looking at them. :)

Good looking Terps! I'm torn whether to work with them in the future or not...I've always loved them (especially Carolinas), but a ton of people work with them, and I wonder whether my space would be worth something that needs more "help".

Thanks Steve.. but at the risk of sounding crass or rude.. name even two that are producing any hatchlings please? ( legitimate and legal )

Two of the three/maybe four main Terrapin keepers/breeders [ that I know of ] are no longer doing much.. if any. Email me if you would please.
